We've reached our maximum allowable number of registrants for the season. Sorry if you've missed out. If you're interested, next year's registration will begin in mid-April. Oakleaf is still offering swimming lessons at this time.
Just a reminder to all our followers that registration for the 2015 swim season is open and registration will close when we reach 100 swimmers or close of business on Monday, May 4th whichever comes first. We expect to max out at 100 so don't delay! Registration forms can be completed on our website at www.oakleafswimteam.org We just updated the calendar on the website at www.oakleafswimteam.org (which is also available through Google Calendar) with the upcoming dates for the 2012 season. As soon as we have the 2012 registration forms we will post them online.
Hope to see you at the March 17th Open House from 10a-12p to register and get your child fitted for their swimsuit. What a great job the kids did today! Coach Sean and I were loaded down with awards to give out tomorrow at the banquet. We are so proud of our swimmers!
The banquet will be from 6:00-8:00 tomorrow at Oakleaf Jr. High Cafeteria. Dress is from casual to snappy casual. We’ve put together a great slideshow of the swimmers and families that I know you’ll love. Please remember to bring your dish to share. If your last name begins with the letters A-G: Main dish (could be pasta, meatballs, etc.) H-M: Salads N-R: Breads S-Z: Dessert Thanks and Go Orcas! Emails have been sent out with the tomorrow's heat sheets and entries listing. If for some reason the internet-gremlins kept you from getting yours, go to the Forms page on our website and you'll find them there!
See you at Bolles High School tomorrow morning! As some of you might have heard, Coach Kate's computer hard drive has completely crashed along with it her email lists so this is how we will be communicating with everyone about Championships until we can (please God) get the data pulled off her old drive!
Saturday: Championships warm-ups will be as follows: IM and Free Relay 7:15am Everyone else 7:45am Subscribe via Twitter, Facebook and/or click the RSS Feed to subcribe via Internet Explorer so you won't have to come to this page to see each update. Orcas:
Great job yesterday! We’re so proud of our Orcas for swimming so well against such a monstrous team as EH. Our swimmers had some outstanding performances. J Parents – fabulous job getting the meet finished in just over 3 hours. I think our meet at Eagle Harbor last year lasted around 4 ½ hours. Everyone should give themselves a well-deserved pat on the back for a job well done! Pictures - If you still want Lisa to take your child(ren)’s individual picture, she will be available to do that this Tuesday, from 5:00-6:00. This will be the last opportunity for pictures. Banquet - I’d also like to remind you that the banquet will be held at the Oakleaf Jr. High School Cafeteria on July 24 from 6:00-8:00. More details will be forthcoming in the next week or so. Championship meet July 23 at Bolles – Please begin talking to your child about what he or she would like to swim at champs. At this time, pick 3 individual events. Depending on the number of swimmers in the age group, some kids may be asked to swim 2 relays. Unfortunately, we are limited to 1 or 2 relays per age group, so there won’t be enough spaces for every swimmer to be in a relay. This holds especially true in the 11-12 girls age group. As soon as I find out from the league if we can have both an “A” and a “B” relay, we will get those figured out. The swimmers’ times will be used to figure out who gets the spots. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything mentioned above. Thanks for all of your help! We’d like to get the ball rolling on planning the banquet. A few people have asked what they can do to help the team, but they might be by themselves at the meets with small children in tow. This is for you! Please let Coach Kate know if
you would like to help plan the banquet. Much of it could be done at home. If we got a small group together to meet this week or next week, we would have plenty of time to organize it stress-free. Please keep in mind that we’ve planned for each family to help at least 5 sessions during the season. With a team this large, no one family should have to bear much of the load themselves. Also, teenagers who would like to earn volunteer hours are more than welcome to help! Here's the link to sing up to volunteer: link Thanks!! |
